Dr. Ricardo Tetlalmatzi
Dr. Ricardo is a healthcare professional practicing in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. Originally from the north of the country in the state of Tamaulipas, he completed his undergraduate studies as a Physician-Surgeon at the Universidad Autónoma Tamaulipas campus in Tampico. He continued his education in medicine at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma of Mexico in Mexico City.
During the pandemic, Dr. Ricardo served on the front lines, caring for patients with COVID-19 during his training as an Internal Medicine Specialist. It was this experience which awakened his passion for infectious disease and critical medicine care.
His professional goal is to practice medicine through fundamental bioethical principles based on the best scientific evidence available, optimizing available resources, and adapting them to the needs and characteristics of each patient. In this journey, he also serves as an instrument that shapes the knowledge of future health professionals. He is committed to providing personal medical care, free from prejudice, and accessible to all.
Beyond medicine, Ricardo has a great interest in acquiring new knowledge and sharing it with those around him. In his free time, he also enjoys dancing, working out, singing, and yoga. He currently lives in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca with his immigrant partner (who has greatly helped him improve his English skills) and his fluffy, orange cat.
